アーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィン賞
アーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィン賞（アーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィンしょう、The Ursula K. Le Guin Prize）は、作家アーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィンを記念した、英語の文学作品に毎年贈られる文学賞である。2022年創設。「想像力あるフィクション」の単独作品を著した著者に贈られ、「希望のための現実的な土台を想像し、今こことは違う世界を見ることができる」作家を顕彰することを意図している。賞金は25000ドル[1][2]。
候補入り資格
あらゆる推薦を受けつける。該当作品が「希望、平等、自由、非暴力と抗争以外の解決策、自然世界における人類の位置づけについての全体的視座を含むが、それに限らない、ル＝グウィンの作品の中核をなすコンセプトやアイデアをいかに反映しているか」に基づいて選考される[3]。
対象書籍は、毎年の選考期間内に発表された「単独著者によって書かれた、一冊分の長さがあるイマジネイティヴ・フィクション」かつ「アメリカ国内で発表された英語作品もしくは英語への翻訳作品」でなければならない[3]。一度受賞した著者は再度ノミネートされることはできない[3]。
また、本賞は「人種、ジェンダー、年齢、階級その他の要素によって必要なリソースへのアクセスを限定された著者、修士課程のような確立されたフレームワークの外部で活動している著者、ニューヨークのような文化的中心地に住んでいない著者、まだ広く評価されていない著者を重視する」とされている[4]。
