サンガ川に面し、下流の首都ブラザヴィルまでフェリーが就航している。また、船の航行は上流の中央アフリカのノラまで可能である[1]。

カメルーンとの国境に位置する。熱帯雨林に囲まれ、近隣にはピグミーも多く住む。
