デヴィッド・ブロムバーグ (David Bromberg、1945年9月19日 - ) はアメリカのシンガーソングライターであり、また様々な楽器の演奏演奏を行っている[1][2] 。

ブロムバーグはJerry Jeff Walker, ウィリー・ネルソン, Jorma Kaukonen, ジェリー・ガルシア, Rusty Evans (The Deep) and ボブ・ディランといった、様々な著名なアーティストと共演をしている。元ビートルズのジョージ・ハリスンと共作した"The Holdup"は、ブロムバーグの1972年のセルフタイトルアルバムに収録された。

ブロムバーグはフィラデルフィアで生まれ、ウェストチェスター郡タリータウンで育った。[4][5]その後、1960年代に コロンビア大学 に入学し、その時期にReverend Gary Davisにギターを学んだ。

フィドルの名手であるとともに、 様々なスタイルでの アコースティック・ギター 、エレキギター、 ペダルスチールギター 、ドブロ・ギターの演奏を行った。1970代初頭には彼自身のアルバムを Columbia Recordsで作成し始めた。[6] 1972年のアルバム"Demon in Disguise"における吟遊詩人 Jerry Jeff Walkerの伝説について語った曲である、"Mr. Bojangles" での彼の7分間の演奏によって、ブロムバーグは progressive rock radio で流された。1973年にはJonathan Edwards(アルバムHave a Good Time for Me)において、マンドリン、ドブロ、エレキギターを演奏した。

2007年2月27日、1990年以来初めてとなるスタジオ収録のアルバムをリリースした。このアルバムにはボブ・ディランの「悲しみは果てしなく」や エリザベス・コットンの "Shake Sugaree." が収録されている。2008年にはこのアルバムが、50周年記念のグラミー賞「Best Traditional Folk Album」部門にノミネートされた。[3] 彼の2011年のアルバムUse Me はリヴォン・ヘルム, John Hiatt, Tim O'Brien, ドクター・ジョン, ケブ・モ, ロス・ロボス, Widespread Panic, リンダ・ロンシュタット, ヴィンス・ギルといったゲストをフィーチャーした作品となっている。

現在ブロムバーグはデラウェア州のウィルミントンに妻であるNancy Josephsonと住んでおり、バイオリン工房を営んでいる。[7]また、自らが出資者でもあるウィルミントンのGrand Opera Houseや、"the new World Cafe Live at the refurbished Queen Theatre"での演奏もしている.
