ヒューゴ・デ・ガリス(Hugo de Garis、1947年 - )は、オーストラリアの人工知能の研究者。

業績
1990年代に遺伝的アルゴリズムの研究で先駆的な業績を挙げ、1994年から2000年まで国際電気通信基礎技術研究所(ATR)の人間情報処理研究所で10億ニューロンの人工脳を開発するための研究計画に参画して「ロボ子猫プロジェクト」という、進化するロボットの研究をしたが当時は時期尚早で成功しなかった[1]。2010年に引退するまで厦門大学の人工知能の教授を務めた。
近年では人工知能は急激に発展して、シンギュラリティが21世紀の後半に来ると予測する。その時、人工知能は人間の知能の1兆の1兆倍(10の24乗)になると主張している[1]。
