ファウスト・チェルチニャーニ（イタリア語: Fausto Cercignani イタリア語発音: [ˈfausto tʃertʃiɲˈɲani]、1941年3月21日 - ）は、イタリアの学者、評論家、詩人。

活動

様々なイタリアの大学でドイツ語学と英語史を教えた。ミラノ大学ではドイツ文学を教えた[1][2]。

英語学の分野では、ウィリアム・シェイクスピアに関する研究でよく知られている[3]。その方面での代表作は Shakespeare's Works and Elizabethan Pronunciation（クラレンドン・プレス、1981年）である。

多くの著名な作家に対して文学批評を行った。言語学の分野では、歴史的な観点からゲルマン語派、特にゲルマン祖語、ゴート語、英語、ドイツ語を研究している。文学に関する国際的な学術誌 Studia austriaca （e-ISSN 2385-2925、p-ISSN 1593-2508）および Studia theodisca（e-ISSN 2385-2917、p-ISSN 1593-2478）の編集長を務めている[4][5]。

詩作

チェルチニャーニの詩は7冊の小冊子として出版され、大部の書物 Scritture. Poesie edite e inedite（Genesi、2015年）にまとめられた。ある批評家は、その詩は「甘美」ながら「鋼のように硬く輝く」と評し[6]、別の批評家は「抽象を通じて身体性 (physicality) を再構築している」と述べている[7]。

チェルチニャーニはまた、詩の自己翻訳を実験している[8]。
