経歴
1971年3月26日[1]、オーストリアのウィーンに生まれる[2]。両親はアメリカ人である[3]。3歳の頃、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスへ移り住む[2]。ロヨラ・メリーマウント大学を卒業した[4]。
ブリトニー・スピアーズやレディー・ガガ、ジャスティン・ティンバーレイク、ビヨンセ、ブラック・アイド・ピーズなどのミュージック・ビデオを監督した[5]。
2005年、キアヌ・リーブス主演の『コンスタンティン』で映画監督デビューを果たす[6]。2007年、ウィル・スミス主演の『アイ・アム・レジェンド』を監督した[7]。ロバート・パティンソン、リース・ウィザースプーン、クリストフ・ヴァルツを主演に迎えた監督作品『恋人たちのパレード』は2011年に公開された[8]。
その後、『ハンガー・ゲーム2』と『ハンガー・ゲーム FINAL: レジスタンス』、『ハンガー・ゲーム FINAL: レボリューション』を監督した[9]。
