マイケル・アップル

マイケル・W・アップル（Michael W. Apple、1942年8月20日 - ）は、教育と権力、文化政治、カリキュラム理論・研究、批判的教育学、そして民主的学校の開発を専門とする教育理論家である[1][2][3]。

アップルは現在、ウィスコンシン大学マディソン校教育学部のカリキュラム・教育・教育政策研究ジョン・バスコム（John Bascom）名誉教授で、1970年から2018年まで同校で教えた。1970年にコロンビア大学のティーチャーズカレッジで博士号を取得する前、アップルは出身地であるニュージャージー州の小・中学校で教えた。また、そこで教員組合の会長も務めた。30年以上にわたり、アップルは世界中の教育者、労働組合、反体制派、および政府と協力し、教育政策と実践の民主化に取り組んできた[4][5][6][7]。
