ロザリンド・ハーストハウス

メアリー・ロザリンド・ハーストハウス (Mary Rosalind Hursthouse, 1943年11月10日 - ) は、イギリス・ニュージーランドの哲学者・倫理学者。徳倫理学の主要人物。オークランド大学名誉教授[3]。

経歴

イングランドのブリストルに生まれ[4]、ニュージーランドで育つ[3]。17歳のとき、哲学を専攻していた叔母に触発され哲学を志す[5]。

1964年オークランド大学で学士号、1965年修士号取得[6]。オークランド大学で講師を務めた後[6]、1968年オックスフォード大学サマーヴィル・カレッジでBPhil取得。1969年から同コーパス・クリスティ・カレッジ講師[6]。1974年エリザベス・アンスコムとフィリッパ・フットの指導のもとオックスフォード大学で博士号取得[6]。

1975年から2001年まで英国の放送大学で教えた後、オークランド大学教授に就任[6][3]。2002年から2005年には哲学科長を務め、2012年に退職し名誉教授となった[6]。その他、英国・米国の複数の大学で客員教授を務めた[6]。

2016年、ニュージーランド王立協会フェローに選出された[7]。
