Anthropic は、責任あるAI[3]の 使用を企業理念とし、汎用人工知能（AGI）と大規模言語モデル（LLM）の開発を専門としている。

2022年後半から、Googleは同社に4億ドル近くを投資しており、AnthropicはGoogle Cloudとの正式な提携を発表した[4][5][6]。

歴史

Anthropicは、OpenAIの元上級メンバーで兄妹であるダリオ・アモデイとダニエラ・アモデイによって 2021 年に設立された[7][8][9]。 ダリオ・アモデイはOpenAIの研究担当副社長を務めていた。 アモデイ兄妹は2019年にOpenAIとマイクロソフトとの協業に関しての方向性の違い[10]からOpenAIを退いた[11]。

OpenAIのChatGPTに関与した元研究者で構成されたAnthropicは、Claudeという名前の独自のAIチャットボットの開発を始めた[12]。 ChatGPTと同様に、Claudeはユーザーが質問やリクエストを送信し、非常に詳細で関連性の高い応答を受け取ることができるユーザーインターフェースを備えている[13]。

当初は Slack統合を通じてクローズド ベータ版として利用可能だったが、現在はQuoraのPoeアプリを介して他の2つのチャットボットとともにユーザーがアクセスできるようになっている。 このアプリケーションは現在iOSで利用可能で、間もなくAndroidでも利用できるようになる予定である[14]。

Anthropic は、Transformerアーキテクチャに焦点を当てた、機械学習システムのInterpretability researchに関する研究も発表した。
