GAMESSは計算化学ソフトウェアプログラムの一つであり、General Atomic and Molecular Electronic Structure Systemを意味する。GAMESSのオリジナルのQCPE (Quantum Chemistry Program Exchange) コードは1981年に分裂し、現在は著しく異なる3つのバージョンが存在する。
