Library Genesis
Library Genesis（LibGen）は、様々な分野の論文・書籍の検索エンジンであり[1]、有料で配布されていたり、どこにおいてもデジタル化されていなかったりするコンテンツを無料でアクセス可能にしている[2]。特に、エルゼビアのScienceDirectウェブポータルで配布されているPDFファイルを収録している[3]。

2015年にエルゼビアが論文や書籍へのアクセスを著作権を侵害して提供しているとして提訴したため、訴訟事件に巻き込まれることとなった[3]。LibGenは、ロシアとアムステルダムの両方で登記していると報じられたため、どちらの法律が適用されるか[3][4]、アメリカ合衆国の法廷に被告が出廷するかが不明瞭であった[3]。LibGenはイギリスでは多くのISPによりブロックされているが[5]、そこで行なわれているDNSベースのブロックはアクセスを防止するには不十分であるとされている[3]。2015年10月後半には、ニューヨーク州南部地区連邦地方裁判所がLibGenの閉鎖とドメイン名（libgen.org）の利用停止を命じた[6]。しかし、別のドメイン名でアクセス可能な状態が続いている[7][8]。
2018年6月5日現在、Library Genesisは2,700万冊以上の書籍と、5,800万件以上の学術論文ファイルをデータベース化し提供していると表明している[9]。
