Supercomputing Conference

Supercomputing Conference（スーパーコンピューティング・カンファレンス、スーパーコンピューティング会議、SC）は、1988年よりACMとIEEE Computer Societyが主催している、アメリカ合衆国で毎年開催されているスーパーコンピューティングの国際会議である。正式名称はInternational Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis。開催年の下2桁を使用して、たとえば2012年会議は「SC12」のように略称している。コンピュータサイエンスにおいて、スーパーコンピューティングもしくは高性能計算領域において、最難関の国際会議である。

概要

1988年の第1回では会議名称は「Supercomputing 1988」であったが、後に「Supercomputing Conference 19xx」に改名された[1]。

2008年には、技術プログラムに約4100名、全体で約1万1000名が参加した。2012年のSC12会議は、11月10日から16日まで、ソルトレイクシティのCalvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Centerで開催された。

世界で最も高速な500のスーパーコンピュータを発表するTOP500ランキングの年2回の発表のうち、年1回はこの会議で発表されている。他の1回はヨーロッパで開催されているInternational Supercomputing Conference（ISC）で発表されている。

また、ゴードン・ベル賞、シドニー・ファーンバック賞、シーモア・クレイ賞も当会議で発表されている。
