生い立ち

コートブリッジで生まれる[1]。4歳の頃、現在は特別支援教育に従事する兄のボビーの影響によりコミックを読み始める。[2]。

キャリア

1980-90年代

1980年代後半、ティーンエイジャーの頃にアラン・ムーアと出会い、漫画家を志すようになる。

漫画家としての初めての仕事は高校時代の Saviour である。

1990年代に入ると 2000 AD、 Sonic the Comic、 Crisis のタイトルを手掛けた。

イギリスでのミラーの活動によりDCコミックスから注目を得て、1994年に『スワンプシング』でアメリカン・コミックデビューを果たす。その後もJLA、『ザ・フラッシュ』、Aztekを手掛ける。

2000年代の作品
2007年のミラー。

2000年にDCのインプリントであるワイルドストームのThe Authorityをウォーレン・エリスから引き継ぎ、商業的に成功を収める。『スーパーマン: レッド・サン』を最後にDCを離れた。

2001年よりアルティメット・マーベルで『アルティメット X-MEN』を開始させる。2002年には The Ultimatesを手掛け、後にアニメ映画化もされた。

『アルティメット X-MEN』は33号で降板し、その後はMarvel Knights Spider-Man、Ultimate Fantastic Fourを手掛けた。

2006年にはミニシリーズ『シビル・ウォー』を執筆し、2008年より『ファンタスティック・フォー』[3]、Marvel 1985を手掛ける[4][5][6]。他に『ウルヴァリン』のストーリー "Old Man Logan"を執筆している[7]。

ミラーは『アイアンマン』のジョン・ファヴローに脚本のアドバイスを与えた作家の一人であり、ヴィランをマンダリンからアイアンモンガーに替えるというアイデアを出した[8]。

ミラーとWantedの共同作者のJ・G・ジョーンズ。2010年10月2日、マンハッタンのビッグ・アップル・コンベンション。

ミラーワールド

2004年に出版社ミラーワールドを立ち上げる。ミラーワールド作品にはWanted、Chosen、The Unfunnies、『キック・アス』、War Heroesがある。Wantedは2008年にアンジェリーナ・ジョリー、モーガン・フリーマン、ジェームズ・マカヴォイ出演で映画化された[9]。また『キック・アス』は2010年にマシュー・ヴォーン監督により映画化された。さらにWar Heroesもマイケル・デ・ルカ製作での映画化が発表されている[10][11]。

私生活

グラスゴーに住んでいる[1][2]。カトリック教徒である[1]。
