経歴
1903年2月12日[2]、ニューヨーク州ニューヨーク市に生まれる[3]。
15歳の頃、映画業界でのキャリアを開始する[4]。第二次世界大戦中は通信部隊に従軍し、パリの解放をフィルムに収めた[4]。
1952年、3D映画『ブワナの悪魔』の撮影を担当する[3]。その後、『攻撃』『女の香り』『ロンゲスト・ヤード』など、ロバート・アルドリッチ監督の映画を数多く手がけた[3]。
