マイク・デイヴィス

マイク・デイヴィス（Mike Davis、1946年3月10日 - 2022年10月25日[1]）は、アメリカ合衆国の批評家・都市社会学者。ロサンゼルスを中心とした都市論に依拠して、ネオリベラリズムに基づいて編制される現代社会の暗部を批判的に考察している。

人物・来歴

1946年、カリフォルニア州フォンタナに生まれ、サンディエゴ近郊で育つ。トラック運送業や食肉加工業で働き、新左翼の運動に参画するなど、アカデミック・キャリアの形成は遅れ、1970年代に入りカリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校で修士号を取得。南カリフォルニア建築大学、ニューヨーク州立大学ストーニーブルック校、カリフォルニア大学アーバイン校を経て、死去するまでカリフォルニア大学リバーサイド校人文社会科学学部教授を勤めていた。
